Hi everyone,


Need help regaining my F1 status back. I know there are two ways, First is by completing form I-539 and waiting to be reinstated. Second is by traveling to another Country (Canada or Mexico) with a new I-20, paying SEVIS and then getting a new I-94 upon re-entry... Has anyone tried the second option?.

If so I would like to know what your experience was?


Is there a time period for me to re-enter the US or can I just travel for a week or two and then come back?


Do you recommend traveling by Air, Train (Amtrak) or bus (greyhound)?


Any information provided will be deeply appreciated.

I don't know exactly about the second option. One of my friend got deported. But he had sold alcohol to a minor.
